Abode.

My final University project.

Abode, this display, is an ode to my space but also to those that have come before, an homage to origins of stitch, the works of Virginia Woolf and the curation of Orion Carloto. Using imagery and experiences from my everyday routines, I’d like to remind the viewer, it’s important to enjoy life’s quiet pleasures.

Abode is my final year degree show exhibition, a love letter to the birthplace of my practice, the spaces I occupy and the methods present in my practice. A massive part of this collection is my Mother, the woman who raised me and forever encouraged me to pursue a career in the arts. She taught me to sew, shared her passion of literature and helped provide the bed frame for this very exhibition. A massive part of this collection is the theme of home, the haven that my mother created in order for me and my siblings to thrive. She can be seen in a small cameo stitched into the bedding.
